This video demonstrates how I actively learned new digital tools to augment and improve a unit of instruction. This is a unit I designed wherein each lesson is supplemented by a Web 2.0 tool. I designed this unit in such a way that it can be taught in either a face-to-face or online format. Every Web 2.0 tool that I use in this unit is free and does not require a particularly powerful computer, so they should be accessibly to most online learners and schools with internet access. I genuinely feel that each tool I used in this unit enhances the lesson in a what that pen and paper simply could not emulate. This unit plan shows that, with thoughtful planning, technology can be integrated into existing lessons to elevate them without having to pay a thing or purchase high end computers.

The creation of a Twitter account for my office illustrates the pursuit of professional interests through using a curation tool to create a feed with up to date relevant news in my field. This also allows me to participate locally and globally since I can interact with the people who are posting and they can reciprocate with me.

This is the Inoreader feed that I use to stay current with the latest research and trends in educational technology. This feed allows me to quickly and easily scroll through the latest news from some of the sources I have come to know and trust. Having so much news in one simple location makes it easy to stay up to date so that I can always look to improve student learning outcomes through new tech trends and best practices.
